Copenhagen Bicycle Superhighway

Posted on Dec 8th 2010 | Bike Life, Blog, Video,

It’s no big secret that we’re big believers in the power of bikes. We’re happy to hear of the steadily increasing number of commuters in the States but we know we’ve got a long way to go to get to the level of Copenhagen. They currently see 37% of suburban residents and 55% of city residents use bikes as transportation – a staggering 36,000 cyclists a day. All these riders are causing some very busy cycling routes and the city is building a network of bicycle superhighways to accommodate the traffic. You can check out the full article from the AFP here.

Hopefully here in the US we keep moving towards those kind of numbers. Makes me want to take a trip to Copenhagen to check it out!

Here’s a pretty amazing video of bicycle rush hour there –
